Tamara Gaydos Archival Consulting offers archival, organizational, and collection management services in Eastern New England customized to meet your needs.
Archives
I can provide guidance on arrangement and description of historical material and implement these plans if needed, including training staff to process records. I can advise clients on proactive documentation and preservation of records documenting their life, work, and legacy. I can conduct historical research and write institutional histories and personal biographies. I can create inventories of manuscripts or books.
Consulting
I offer expert guidance in creating project proposals and plans, finding strategies for project implementation, and creating workflows. I can also help you develop a collecting policy and guide you in selecting a collections management system. I can write or review grant applications to acquire funds for archival projects.
Collection Management
I can write collection policy manuals, reference procedure manuals, and general procedures for the management of archives. I can create MARC records for manuscript collections and add them to your in-house catalog and/or OCLC. I can work with clients and architects to design archives storage areas, reading rooms, and processing rooms. I can provide data cleanup after migration.
